Ana Maria Bonomi Barufi
Researcher at The University of São Paulo Regional and Urban Economics Lab (NEREUS, Brazil) and Senior Economist at Bradesco Bank. Her main research interests lay in the relationship between agglomeration economies and labor markets, as well as in regional socioeconomic development.
Ana Maria holds a Master and a Ph.D in Economics from the University of São Paulo. During her Ph.D., she spent a semester at the GeoDa Center at Arizona State University, and a semester in the Spatial Economics Department of VU Amsterdam. She is a founding member of the Regional Science Academy (2015) and is a member of the young section. Ana was awarded the Paulo Haddad Prize of best student paper at the IX ENABER (National Meeting of the Brazilian Regional Science Association, 2012) and the Best Student Award of the First Spatial Econometrics Advanced Institute (2008).
